About Kim

Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I love the feeling that movement brings to my mind and body.

However, after having children I realised that the changes that had taken place during pregnancy were beginning to impact my mindset as well as my day to day functioning. I decided to begin exploring different types of movement to see what would work best for my body.

I started with Resistance training and was truly shocked when I saw how much my body changed when the muscles were stimulated to grow, develop and support the body under load. Eager to learn more, I moved on to Strength training. I really enjoyed this training and entered (and came first) in my first Body Building competition in 2009. I continued to compete for four years gaining a place at each event. Eventually I reached my competition pinnacle coming first in my category at National Level. This sport showed me the true meaning of consistent discipline, committing to a goal and pushing my mind and body beyond what I thought I was capable of.

With each year of training, I discovered how my body could adapt to new challenges. Once I had adapted to a new set of exercises it was time to modify my training and start again.

I realised I had learned so much and I was keen to share this knowledge with others, so I decided to study to become a Personal Trainer. As a PT I have had the privilege of working with all ages and abilities. It has been a truly rewarding experience to see the positive impact exercise has on all bodies.

Pilates showed me a different way to build strength in my body and I was amazed by how much the breath could change how my body functioned. I felt it was critical to include Pilates into my fitness journey after I’d attended my first mat class and had experienced the energy and flow resulted from using the Reformer machine.
